The free version of NetEase Mail for enterprises has reduced the quota to 1GB as of October 31, 2024, meaning each account can store a maximum of 1GB of emails and other data.
Originally, after registering for the free version of NetEase Enterprise Mail, multiple sub-mailboxes could be created, with each sub-mailbox account providing 3GB of data storage, which was generally sufficient for regular use.
However, now that it has been reduced to 1GB, it is indeed a bit lacking. If a lot of emails are sent and received, it will require frequent cleaning of emails and their attachments; otherwise, it is easy to fill up the free quota of the account.
The capacity of the free version of NetEase Enterprise Mail has been reduced from 3GB to 1GB, and exceeding this will prevent normal sending and receiving of emails.
According to NetEase Mail's official statement, exceeding the email capacity will lead to an inability to receive and send emails normally. For example, if someone sends you a new email, you may not be able to receive it due to exceeding the capacity, which could affect normal communication.
NetEase suggests that to avoid unnecessary impacts, users should upgrade their enterprise email as soon as possible to enjoy unlimited capacity, more security, higher quality, and more stable services. Of course, upgrading requires a paid subscription.
Currently, NetEase Enterprise Mail offers flagship, premium, and group versions, with the flagship version starting at 100 yuan per account per year after discounts, and the premium version starting at 150 yuan per account after discounts, requiring at least 5 accounts to be opened, which means a minimum annual cost of 500 yuan.
These paid versions are not unlimited in capacity, but can accommodate 1 million emails, which is sufficient for most users and enterprises. Therefore, users who wish to continue using NetEase Enterprise Mail should pay attention to their email capacity and consider upgrading.
Note: The official website of NetEase Enterprise Mail's free version still seems to indicate that the capacity for a single account is 6GB. NetEase Enterprise Mail has gradually pushed away free users from the early days of not notifying account deletions to now shrinking storage space, leaving only a small portion or forcing you to become a paying user. While it is not on the same path as QQ, the end result is still a paid service.
